This parcel forms the core of the Islay
Mist blend giving it its unique Islay character and yielding a batch of just
2160 bottles. In fact, this is the oldest and rarest Islay Mist ever bottled.
Nose: An unmistakable, yet gentle
Islay-smokiness. As if stepping into an old sea-side warehouse breathing in the
low hanging whisky mist with its mature oaky scents and gentle peat smoke.
Palate: A complex fusion of sweet malt
and mellow oak maturity dancing across the tongue while mingling with peppery
smokiness. The peppery smoke begins very subtly only to gain in force, roll
across the tongue and grab a powerful foothold before gently drifting in the
background.
Finish: A warming well-lasting spicy
sensation. True Islay elegance.
