KI NO BI is the first of its kind:a Japanese gin created,blended and bottled at our dedicated artisanal distillery in Kyoto using many local ingredients and inspired by the history,culture and people of this ancient city.
Meaning "The Beauty of the Seasons,'' KI NO BI is,unusually,made from a rice spirit,complemented by the addition of regional botanicals such as yuzu,ginger and gyokuro tea from Uji.
The 11 botanicals are harvested at the peak of the season and grouped by flavour into what we call the 6 Elements,which are macerated and distilled separately,before being blended together with the famed waters of Fushimi from Tsuki-no-Katsura,sake brewery founded in 1675.
The name and label design have been created in collaboration with KIRA KARACHO,a kyoto-based karakami atelier with roots dating back to 1624.
The kyoto Distillery has been awarded IWSC Trophies for International Gin Producer of the year and Contemporary Gin of the Year.
